WHERE DO WE DELIVER?

We deliver all over the World! Standard delivery of one map is 3 days to Europe – from completion of your map (all maps are made to order – please see product specific delivery details). International is up 3-10 days. We cannot be responsible for any major problems that occur with your shipment, but we do take the greatest care to package your order as safely as possible to ensure no damage. We even use cardboard boxes made from recycled boxes! We've had no major problems so far. Just the occasional customs issues.

DO WE ACCEPT RETURNS?

We are happy to make a full refund, providing the art is returned in pristine condition, and the buyer is responsible for the cost of return postage and packaging.

ARE OTHER COLOURS AVAILABLE?

Some are... Nothing beats the strong colours that hand silkscreen printing can produce. There are however some limitations to printing on cork, which is why we're always experimenting. Strong colours that contrast to the cork producing the best results – yellows and oranges just loose all detail. To hear about new colours please signup to our mailing list below, or contact us with your specific requirements.

WHAT ABOUT THE FRAMES?

We believe our frames look their best with a deep brown stain, but we are always experimenting, so if you see something you like that we have not got listed, please contact us with your ideas.

WHY IS THE CORK MOUNTED IN THE FRONT OF THE FRAMES?

Originally we started making frames from up cycling wooden pallets, because we wanted to make the frames really rustic we were constrained by the size of each piece of wood, we came up with the unique split frames made out of multiple pieces. The pinboards are mounted from the front, for a near flush finish – so your momentos hang nicely over the edges.

These days though, we use fresh FSC approved wood that looks like pallet wood, because it's impossible to know what nasty things old wooden pallets might have been exposed to!

WHY CORK; WHY NOT OTHER MATERIALS?

We love cork! Not least because it's a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing traditional pin-board material, but it’s also 100% sustainable and feels great too. Did you know that cork is actually the bark of a tree and is farmed in the same way it's been produced for centuries. It is also an amazing material – did you know it’s even used by Nasa on the outside Spacecraft because it’s fire retardant!

Time was taken to carefully select the perfect grade of cork that we could fine screenprint on and sandwich to a recycled paper soft board core, because unlike other pinboard materials which are either too weak or too hard to press pins into, you can really feel how good the pin-retention is.

WHAT PINS ARE SUPPLIED?

We include some nice white flag pins with every map to get you started. If you need more, you can order them straight from us too. We will offer more colours in the future, and let you know by email. Alternately you might find some on Ebay.

WILL WE MAKE OTHER MAPS?

Yep, we sure will; just not right now. We plan on making smaller individual countries and continents. Even giant versions! Sign up to the mailing list below to hear more about this as soon as others are available, or please contact us if you have a large bespoke requirement.

HOW BIG AND HEAVY ARE THEY?

They're a nice size! But not too big. In fact they're 135cm x 75cm x 3cm and weigh around 10-12kg (depending on the wood used for the frames). We designed them to be a feature and talking point. We probably won't print world maps any smaller than this because we believe these are the optimum size for the detail of the country borders – you just wouldn't fit any pins on a smaller cork world map like this!

HOW DO YOU HANG'EM, ON A WALL?

That's a good question! It's not that hard at all. All our maps come fitted with brass key hole wall mounts and supplied with solid wall screws and plugs, for standard stud or stone walls. The frames weigh about 11kg, so they are not too heavy for stud walls. But if you'd like to be sure, you could buy special extra-strong stud wall mounting kits from DIY stores.

To actually mount it on the wall, we recommend finding the centre of your wall; or the centre of where you want the map placed. Mark with a pencil the top of where you want the frame to hang. Then without the frame, measure down XXmm (how ever thick the top of your frame is), and make another mark. Now with a spirit level, draw a penciled line across the wall, roughly 80cm long (40cm each way from the centre line). At each end of the line, mark an 'X' for where to drill. We recommend using a small drill bit to start drilling the first hole, and then a 6mm drill bit for the final hole. Inset the plugs into the wholes, then screw the scores in leaving about 10mm petruding for the frame to hang on. There you have it.
